Why should you consider booking a DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?

A documentary wedding photographer is often referred to as “natural style photographer” and occasionally a “candid wedding photographer”.  Fundamentally, however, they all refer to the same thing and focus (excuse the pun) on capturing natural moments as they happen rather than intervening or staging the photos.

This style of wedding photography endeavors to record very genuine moments, as they occur, throughout your wedding day and so that your final wedding gallery will be a collection of natural-looking wedding photos that show a beautiful record of your day.

The difference between REPORTAGE and DOCUMENTARY wedding photography

Documentary Photography is often described as Natural, Candid, and even Reportage Photography! But in fact, they are pretty much the same thing. Essentially this natural style of wedding photography means we’ll unobtrusively capture your wedding without getting too involved and interrupting the flow.

It’s fair to say every wedding photographer and wedding videographer has their own distinctive photography style, which you will either fall in love with or you won’t.  So it’s so important that you take the time to go through their portfolio to really connect with the images they create.

Why we put our trust in DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY

Your wedding day will be a treasure-trove of emotion-filled moments. True Story. And it’s all just waiting to be captured by wedding photographers like us, who favour a truly natural style and photojournalistic approach to capturing the wedding day. For us, it’s all about seeing and feeling the true fabric of your day.  The nervous smiles, the big hugs, the emotional speeches, and the connections between friends and family that have all been brought together to share your day with you. That’s the details that we want to capture and the details that will resonate with you for years and years after your wedding day.

How we keep things looking NATURAL

We’ll always try to work with whatever available light there is to compliment a photo. We aim to craft light and make a scene remain the way you intended when planning your wedding. Over-used and complicated flash setups can sometimes manipulate the space and in turn, can make it feel different from what it did on the day. We want the memories of your wedding day to feel real.
