Annabelle & Oliver’s Wedding at Fawsley Hall

It was a very misty morning for the wedding of Annabelle and Oliver.  The mist stayed low and at times swirled on the ground and made for a wonderfully dramatic view of their chosen venue Fawsley Hall, Hotel & Spa in Northamptonshire.

The Preparations

Annabelle opted to get ready at home with family and friends.  She told me she wanted a relaxed start to the morning of her wedding.  She got it.  It was filled with laughter, love and a few bubbles.  Makeup artist Brooke Savannah Stephens was on hand helping Annabelle and her bridal party get ready. Meanwhile, Oliver was getting ready with a few of his Groomsmen at Fawsley Hall; their chosen wedding venue.  The boys had a busy morning.  They were on hand helping to direct guests to the church and provide transport to those that needed it.

The Ceremony : St Mary The Virgin Church Fawsley

The wedding ceremony was held at the very intimate St Mary The Virgin Church.  This small, quaint and isolated Church lies in the grounds of Fawsley Hall.  It is only accessible by walking across what is essentially a field in the grounds of Fawsley Hall.  Watching the guests make their way was brilliant.  Furthermore they all braved the cold and mud with smiles on their faces to celebrate in the marriage of Annabelle and Oliver.

The Reception : Fawsley Hall

Fawlsey Hall, itself is an amazing wedding venue to shoot at.  It looked particularly dramatic on their wedding day with the heavy overcast skies.  Set in it’s beautiful grounds it really is a wedding photographers dream. Following the ceremony, Annabelle and Oliver’s guests were treated to a drinks reception in The Tudor Hall.  This was such a great space.  Full of history, with wonderful light and amazing architecture.  To keep their guests entertained Annabelle and Oliver had George the Wedding Artist drawing up Wedding Caricatures. This was all done with the dulcet tones of Sax player Steve Ogorman playing in the background mixed in with a lot of laughter. During the wedding breakfast, there was an especially emotional speech from Annabelle’s dad and brilliantly funny speech from Oliver’s best man.

The Photographs

Whilst not originally our clients we were beyond happy to step in and help.  With their original photographer, a good friend of ours who was pregnant was unable to photograph their day, so we jumped at the chance when asked.  Annabelle & Oliver – you, your family and friends were an absolute pleasure to document.
