Tony and Gilly’s Chateau De Lisse Wedding in France.
I’ve been so excited to share Gilly and Tony’s wedding at Chateau De Lisse in Nerac. This stunning venue is based about an hour outside of Bordeaux in the valleys of the Coteaux d’Agenaisand. This location makes you feel quintessentially French when you’re out sipping some of the best wine you’ve tasted, taking in the amazing views in the gardens. And don’t even get me started on the cheese! Just wow. But it wasn’t all cheese and wine, it was all about Gilly and Tony and their wonderful guests that joined them for their very special day. Actually more a weekend to be honest, which is what makes destination weddings so much fun. It’s so much more than just one day.
I arrived on Friday along with most of the guests and the atmosphere was so relaxed, everyone was smiling and the kids were entertaining themselves in the swimming pool. WIFI was restricted to the one area in the Chateau so it was also quite the technology detox, because who needs to be online when all your most important people are right there with you anyway? 😉 After a fun night eating and drinking we turned in early (well I did anyway) ready to embrace the wedding day on Saturday.
Saturday morning was sunny and the Chateau looked even more spectacular when the girls over at Le Coeur Sauvage worked their magic with the Chapel and dinning room flowers. The day was filled with so much love, big smiles and loads of dancing once the party made it’s way over to the “rave cave”. Hats off to The Fabulous Fug Band that managed to roll off hit after hit after hit (including “boom shake the room”, a personal favourite of mine) and kept everyone partying the night away.
