Chelsea and Peter's Wedding at Cooling Castle in Rochester, Kent
It was an absolute pleasure to photograph Chelsea and Peter’s wedding at Cooling Castle Barn. I first met Chelsea when she was a Bridesmaid at Lizzie & Aaron’s Wedding at Old Brook Barn, so I was excited when Chelsea got in contact asking us to document her wedding day at Cooling Castle.
Chelsea & Peter – Where it all began
Having known each other since their school days, Chelsea & Peter finally became a couple one summer during their summer break from university, and have been together ever since. Peter proposed in December 2017 in Reykjavik where he had taken her for a surprise birthday weekend. Proposing with a custom ring he had made for Chelsea from their holiday in Turkey, which he had been carrying around with him.
I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU for our amazing wedding gallery. We are totally over the moon!Chelsey & Peter
Planning Your Wedding Day at Cooling Castle Barn
Whilst sadly not an Essex Barn Wedding Venue, this exclusive use wedding venue is a set of 3 rustic barns situated in stunning Gardens. A brilliant setting for a wedding photographer or videographer to work some magic. Cooling Castle only specialises in weddings and the team there always know how to get the most for a couples wedding day so, I was pleased when Chelsea and Peter told me they had selected this Rochester Wedding Venue.
The Ceremony – Fathom Barn at Cooling Castle
Due to the typically unpredictable British weather, the couple decided with the brilliant team at Cooling Castle to move the ceremony indoors to the Fathom Barn, and it worked perfectly.
The Heritage Barn – Cocktails & Photographs
The intermittent rain made group shots and portraits fun with us having to dash under canopies at short notice, while guests enjoyed cocktail hour in The Heritage Barn. Still, despite the weather, everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves, especially at Peter’s claim, he does the best ‘mood’ face ever.
Tithe Barn – The Reception & Party
The wedding reception’s backdrop was the rustic Tithe Barn. Hosted by the lovely Toastmaster Julie Lucas the with twinkling fairy lights, and it’s vibrant red brick and wood structure the reception had a rustic, intimate and cosy feel. The party atmosphere created by Chelsea & Peter’s family and friends was electric, and the dancefloor was very fun and enjoyable to capture.
