A Guide to our Favourite Wedding Venues in the UK
As an Essex Wedding Photographer and Videographer duo, we are so lucky to be invited to photograph weddings in our documentary style across the UK. This post is a compilation of our favourite wedding venues in the UK we’ve had the pleasure of working at.
Our Top 5 List of Favourite Places to Get Married in the UK
- Deer Park Hall, The Cotswolds
- Houchins Barn, Colchester
- Victoria Warehouse, Manchester
- Ramster Hall, Surrey
- Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh
Deer Park, The Cotswolds
Deer Park Hall lies in the scenic landscape of the Cotswolds located on the Gloucestershire Worcestershire border. Situated within 1400 acres of rolling countryside it is stunning, especially when it comes to portrait time. I mean, who doesn’t love a beautiful picturesque backdrop to their wedding photography. With the ethos of ‘your day your way’ it is a favourite venue for couples who want to put their unique stamp on their wedding day.
Houchins Barn, Colchester
Houchins Barn near Colchester is in our top ten Wedding Venues in Essex list, so it’s no surprise it made it to our top 5 in the UK. It is one of the most picturesque wedding venues we have shot at, and we are lucky enough to have it on our doorstep. Every wedding there has a unique feel to it. Probably due to the flexibility the venue offers in planning your wedding day. The enormous field at the rear of the site is possibly one of our favourites for an afternoon portrait session on your wedding day.
Victoria Warehouse, Manchester
Victoria Warehouse is a converted redbrick cotton and textile warehouse in Manchester. It’s an iconic looking building and has a total of five rooms licensed for civil ceremonies, and numerous other spaces to suit the size of your wedding, allowing for total flexibility. Fay and Adam took full advantage of this for their Victoria Warehouse Wedding, and it was spectacular.
Ramster Hall, Surrey
Ramster Hall’s long driveway through picturesque parkland and gardens leads you to the three beautiful wedding halls which sit around a stunning courtyard. Located in Surrey, this wedding venue with its richly decorated period rooms screams luxury. We first worked there at Natalie & Sam’s Wedding and fell in love with the place. The courtyard that’s dressed with climbing vines and flowers is glorious on a summer’s day.
Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh
Back in 2018 we blogged Milena & Richard’s Wedding at Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh. In the post, Tarik said he imagined it would remain one of the most unique wedding ceremonies he’d have the privilege of being part of, because of the venue setting. It remained so to this day and was a no-brainer for our favourite UK wedding venues list. This place has such a magical feel to it, and one we love, and we can’t wait to work there again.
