Nate and Kayleigh's Wedding at Hutton Poplars Hall in Brentwood, Essex
What an absolute pleasure to photograph Nate and Kayleigh’s wedding at Hutton Hall in Brentwood, Essex. Hutton Poplars Hall wasn’t a venue I knew much about before this wedding, and it really caught me by surprise, at how fantastic a venue it actually is.
Nate & Kayleigh – Where it all began
Nate and Kayleigh first met at primary school. Kayleigh told us she doesn’t remember much of him back then, other than he had long floppy hair and played basketball. Whilst Nate claims Kayleigh asked him out in year 5 (something she denies) they eventually became really good friends when they were 17 after going on a Swiss exchange trip.
Shortly after this trip they started dating and have been together ever since. Nate proposed in the Peak District on a hot bank holiday weekend. Despite it feeling like a million people were there as well Nate managed to find a quiet spot for their engagement. Pulling out some champagne and strawberries, and a very sparkly ring they decided to get married the following summer in Essex.
We absolutely loved having Tarik as our photographer. He is so professional and was confident telling us how to stand so that our photos look amazing. Tarik is such a nice guy, it was like having another friend celebrating with us! We highly recommend him and are SO thrilled with our gorgeous wedding pictures, which we will always treasure!Nate & KayleighFacebook Review
Planning your Wedding Day at Hutton Poplars Hall in Essex
Hutton Poplars Hall was a residential school and home for children from the Poplar area in the East end of London. With most of the old school demolished only the old dining hall remains and is what has now become this quirky wedding venue. Located in the heart of Hutton this Essex wedding venue can host between 40 and 250 guests. It is a wonderful wedding venue for those couples looking for something unique, that they can really make their own.
The Ceremony – Christ Church Warley
Nate and Kayleigh opted for a church ceremony at the Christ Church Warley near Brentwood. Her Dad was so very proud and upon Kayleigh’s arrival to the church became very emotional at the sight of his daughter for the first time. Kayleigh’s mum walked her down the aisle with one of the bridesmaids singing and Nate’s brother on the guitar. It was everything they told me they wanted. Following the ceremony, the couple served tea and cake to their guests, whilst we grabbed a few group photos and portraits in the church gardens.
The Reception – The Old Dining Room at Hutton Hall
What can I say? Nate and Kayleigh did a fantastic job of really making Hutton Poplars Hall their own. This quirky and unusual wedding venue has so much character already, but the venue was really very tastefully decorated with rustic decor and table details.
Opting for a Hog Roast dinner provided by the Hungry Hog BBQ outside the front of the venue, was a great choice, and this was followed by a live band for their first dance and party.

Hutton Hall offers some wonderful photo opportunities both inside and out. The small forest at the back of the venue is very picturesque, and something we made sure to take advantage of on Nate and Kayleigh’s wedding day.
