Louis and Lucy’s destination wedding at Hotel Marinas De Nerja in Spain.
Photographing a wedding day is a responsibility I never take for granted and I feel privileged that people trust me to document such an important event especially a destination wedding. Recalling the story to the bride, groom and their family is the part I love most about being a documentary wedding photographer and something that keeps me so enthusiastic about this job.
When I received an email from Lucy and Louis to discuss their destination wedding that was taking place in Nerja, I was over the moon. Not only was it officially my first destination wedding booking but also the 2nd Purves family wedding that I’d have the pleasure of covering. (The first being Heidi and James’ wedding at Aynhoe Park in 2014 which was amazing fun, so I expected nothing less here of course).
Southern Spanish Destination Wedding
I spent 4 days with the Purves family out in this beautiful part of southern Spain and I was overwhelmed by the fantastic landscapes and views around Nerja. Louis and Lucy’s destination wedding was everything that I imagined it to be; surrounded by over 100 guests they celebrated their special day which was filled with love, laughter and even a few tears of joy. It was pretty much everything a wedding day should be, full of emotion from start to finish.
If you’re considering a destination wedding I really couldn’t recommend it enough. An opportunity to extend your wedding celebrations from one day to thee or four days seems like a no brainer to me. Chateau De Lisse in Bordeaux will be the next destination wedding which will be fantastic.
